Broken Player by R, C, Stephens is book 5 of the Westfall U Series. The Westfall saga continues with Darren and Blossom's story. If you've read the other books in this series then you know that this has been a long time coming.
Darren, the mysterious, broody bartender at The Firken who keeps everyone at arms length and then some. Not many know of his history and he's intent on keeping it that way. He has the world on his shoulders and is resolved on carrying it as his cross to bare. He watches everyone achieving their dreams and living life while his keeps passing him by.
Blossom, the tragic, self sufficient, kind and hardworking woman trying to start her life after giving it up to raise her younger sister. Starting college at her age and working at the popular college bar keeps her busy enough and falling for a guy is not on her agenda.
The attraction between these two keeps the heat going. It's a slow burn that intensifies chapter by chapter. The family unit between the group of friends throughout the series keeps building and intensifies their relationships with each other.
Every book added to this series feels like I'm coming back home every single time. The previous book's couples are not forgotten but just keeps building. I feel like I'm growing along with this group of friends and family. It has been a joy that I look forward to reading.
If you love college, sports, hockey, brooding male, strong female, family dynamic contemporary romance, then you're in for a treat! You'll get addicted to this series just as I am.
Even though Broken Player is in a series, it can be read as a standalone.
