False start by Echo Grace is a small town hate to love story that had me turning page after page with the broody, Cain "Priest" and a strong willed, witty Maisy.
Maisy constantly moved from place to place with her mother until her death. She was placed in a home for troubled kids where she meets Tilly.
Having no home to call her own, she was determined to stay put in this small town and built a life with friends in her roller derby group and the townspeople.
Cain living in guilt and refuses to put down roots in the town that blamed him for something he didn't do and kept the truth to protect someone. Along with the guilt from his past, Cain is stuck in guilt and responsibility that he could only survive by focusing on taking care and protecting others.
A common purpose and goal sets Cain and Maisy on a road to love, discovery, self growth, overcoming fears and acceptance. Their journey is a bumpy track with a push and pull from both sides that makes it all worthwhile.
False Start by Echo Grayce is a wonderful beginning to this small town romance series. I'm extremely excited to see what's next in the series. With a surprise ending that has me excited for who might be next.
