Wow, what a way to end the last day of March 2022. Beautiful Nightmare by Leila James knocked me off my feet! I was captivated from beginning to end.
This story felt like I was hit by a car, dragged thousands of feet, drenched in fuel and lit on fire! The anguish, pain, emotions, and mystery holds you until the very end. And what an end it was!
It's a college romance unlike any other I've read. My emotions were all over the place and when the truth came out, it threw me for a loop.
I have my own anxieties and PTSD so I really felt Lux's torment. The nightmares, the shakes, the little things that remind you of the most horrendous thing you've ever experienced, the loneliness it brings from alienating yourself from society, the nerves that feel like it's going to break you down and rip you to shreds. It was all relatable to me.
Hawk's character had me questioning things, but read on to the end and it will all reveal itself.
Beautiful Nightmare by Leila James has inched it's way to my favorites list and I'm looking forward to reading more of the series. With book 1 being so good, I'm chomping at the bit to read what happens next.
