Blame it on the Vodka by Fiona Cole

April 2022

Blame it on the Vodka by Fiona Cole is easy to read. The storyline flowed throughout the book. It's a best friends to lovers story with the boy helplessly in love with the girl who's determined to stay uncommitted. A drunken night in Vegas leads to a surprise marriage between the two. Austin is hell bent on staying married and Rae is determined to dissolve it.

Austin is the doting, devoted and loyal friend who lets Rae take the reins in their friendship. But the tables are turned when it comes to the bedroom with Austin's sinful dirty talk and kinkiness. He is definitely a take charge kind a guy that we all love to read about.

Rae is a strong willed, out going woman who stands her own ground but unknowingly ends up subservient. Her journey to realization that she had become someone she had vowed to never be is eye opening. How little moments of abuse that seem insignificant can develop into something so much bigger, that most of the time we don't realize until it's too late.

It's definitely got steamy scenes and their banter is entertaining. This story deals with abuse and domestic violence but it's not graphic.
