"Hate You, Henley" by Hannah Gray

February 2022

Okay, I'm not usually a lucky person but I actually received this ebook through a giveaway on Facebook! How awesome and fortuitous was that??

This is my first book from Hannah Gray and it looks like this is a 3rd book in her Brooks University Series. You can bet I'll be reading the former two and they're already on my "want to read" list.

"Hate you, Henley" is about a set of twin brothers and a girl, Weston, Dane and Henley, all born on the same day by two best friends. All three growing up together as close as anyone can get. Between the three, Henley and Weston become best friends. They spend their days together goofing around and swimming in the lake by their houses.

A love triangle develops between the three which is a recipe for disaster. Weston and Henley have an unspoken understanding that they are each other's soulmates. The two, too afraid to tell each other how they really feel, they end up having a misunderstanding that pushes Henley to turn to Dane.

One mistake turns their whole dynamic into chaos. One mistake turns into a horrific tragedy that alters the lives of all three. Dane and Henley turning to one another for solace with a secret they know will tear Weston apart. Henley turns to alcohol and drugs to ease the pain.

The three goes off to college. Dane to a university in Florida. Henley goes off to Brooks University. West's undying love and need to take care of Henley motivates him to follow her. To make sure she is safe, even though she never asked for it.

Through a series of events, fate... or rather West, they find each other in circumstances that bring them together. The undeniable attraction is there but the need to keep her secret is preventing her from following her heart.

Will the two ever find their way back to each other? What will it take for Henley to tell the truth? Will Weston love her enough to forgive her? Will Dane finally take her from West for good? Will the three get back what they had together? Brother against brother, can they reclaim what they once had?

The anticipation and torture of what's to come had me anxious. I was so invested in their story that I'm still feeling the effects and the emotions the day after. It's a great read that builds up slowly but packs a punch.

My soul dog and book buddy, Pippa, gives Hate you, Henley a 5 lick rating and a super soft blanket to keep you warm and cozy.

I love matching people to the characters in each book. I'm really new at this, but I think I did a good job. I'm trying to find the right app that can add my music files to it. Crossing my fingers I find one that is not too expensive.

I'd love to see what you think of my character cast after you read the book. Comment below if I hit it on the nose or post a pic of your selection.
