This is my first book by these authors and I can say with true honesty that I enjoyed reading Nathan and Alyssa's (aka Lissie) story. So much so that I read it in one night!
Filled with dirty talking, steamy scenes and a bit of mystery, it kept me interested throughout the entire book.
Nathan is a hunky, protective, romantic on the outside with a dirty talking, dominant side in the bedroom, bathroom, pool house… well, you get it… A man with a troubled history with a father who abused him. He is also the ex-boyfriend of Lissie's older sister, Amanda, until her death. He holds the answers to what happened the night of the accident but would rather be the bad guy in Amanda's family's eyes to protect them from further heartbreak and sorrow.
Lissie is a sweet, talented, determined younger woman carrying the pain of losing her sister, and is attempting to start “living” again and achieve her dreams. Her hatred for Nathan and the belief that he killed her has overshadowed her long time crush on him.
Getting hired as a dancer for the Panther's dance team is an opportunity of a lifetime for Lissie. The only problem is, the Panthers is also Nathan's football team. Hoping Nathan's injuries from the accident will prevent him from returning to football, she's taken aback when she bumps into him at a club with his fellow football team mates.
Circumstances puts them together in a series of events and the attraction for each other strengthens.
What secrets is Nathan hiding? Will Nathan's secrets ruin their chances at a future together? Will her loyalty to her family and her hatred for him prevent her from giving into what they both want?
