"All this time I worried about being good enough for her, and she married someone even worse."
I was fortunate to stumble upon Echo Grayce through Facebook. She was looking for ARC reader volunteers for her book, Penalty Box and I happily volunteered my services.
I am so glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this 105 page short story.
Jackson is the town bad boy/stoner as a teenager that did all the wrong things.
Savannah is the town good girl/valedictorian that can do no wrong.
Two young teenagers attracted to one another but not able to show in public. Savannah had to choose to be with the boy she loved or live a life she was told to have.
Jackson does all he can to change the course of his life and have the acceptance of his family and townsfolk. He succeeds in that until Savannah walks back into his life with a secret following her around.
I love the friendship Jackson has with Kyle and Josh. The camaraderie and ride or die they have for one another.
I love the chemistry between Jackson and Savannah. I love his love for Savannah and her daughter, Skye. I love how protective he is instantly. I love his determination and sacrifice no matter the consequence to keep Savannah and Skye safe and together. I love the lengths Jackson takes to secure Savannah's future with her daughter.
I'm definitely looking forward to more of Echo Grayce's books. Penalty Box is a great starter book for any romance lover.
