I was excited to read Revved to the Maxx, book 1 of the Reynolds Restoration series by Melanie Moreland after reading the ARC for book 3, Shifting Gears. I love book 3 so much that I had to back track and read book 1 and 2.
Let me just tell you, I was not disappointed! This story between Maxx and Charly is highly entertaining. It's full of angst, verbal sparring and banter. It's got some steamy scenes that have you reaching for a bag of ice. The chemistry is sizzling. Maxx's grumpy nature with his protectiveness makes him doubly adorable. Charly's spunk, sassiness and stubbornness makes Charly fun to get to know.
I love the banter between the two especially with her choice of clothing. I love how conniving Charly is when she wants attention from Maxx. I love how she's a "take charge" woman not easily bent to his will.
The introduction to Brett and Stefano's characters have me wanting for more, even though I've read Brett's story already. I'm gearing up to starting Breaking the Speed Limit to see what happens to Stefano.
This is my second book by Melanie Moreland and I will say that she is becoming a favorite for me. I love the easiness of reading her books. I love that she can pull me in from the beginning. It's the kind of stories I want to read when I just want to enjoy a good romance story.
