Untamed Obsession by Faye Pierce

March 2022

This is my first book by Faye Pierce.

Untamed Obsession is a mafia/contemporary/forced proximity romance book.

Maria is a nurse with an ailing mother who's struggling to make ends meet.

Angelo is the son of one of the mafia leaders and suddenly become the don after his father is shot and killed.

A power struggle between to two main mafia families which starts a war that Maria finds herself thrown into the mafia life when she gets hit with Angelo's get away car. Unable to stop and check on Angela when she is struck down by the car, Angelo makes the effort to find her and make sure she is fine.

He finally finds her and he's instantly attracted to Maria. He does all he can to make her his by kidnapping her, forcing her to live in his penthouse as a prisoner.

Can Angelo win Maria's heart? Will he ever let her go? What must he do to stop the war between two families? What lengths will he go to keep peace and remain in control? Who can he trust?

Untamed Obsession has some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. It definitely has some steamy scenes as well. It kept me interested in the story. There were some slow parts that had me putting book down, but I came back to it after a bit.

I wish Maria had more spunk. I think I would have been more invested had she fought harder for her freedom. I just think she gave in too easily. Most of the book transpired in a 2 week timeline. I was thinking it was more like months that he kept her imprisoned but I realized it was only 2 weeks. Their feelings for each other would have been more believable in my opinion had they had more time. And with a mother on her death bed, I find it odd that she didn't inquire about her and there was no emotion or fear that her mom was left alone.

I think Untamed Obsession had a good plot, but just needed a little more character development.
